The German Technical Cooperation (GTZ) is an international cooperation enterprise for sustainable development with worldwide operations. GTZ has the corporate form of a “GmbH” (closed limited company) in the private sector but is owned by the German Federal Government. The GTZ Supervisory Board has representatives of four Federal Ministries: the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), Federal Foreign Office, Federal Ministry of Finance, and Federal Ministry of Economics and Labour. GTZ promotes complex reforms and change processes, often working under difficult conditions. Its corporate objective is to improve people’s living conditions on a sustainable basis.
